All credit card transactions are conducted in Australian Dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially deposited.
DRIVERS LICENCE-MINIMUM AGE
A current driver’s licence is required and if not in the English language then an international driver’s licence is also required. The licence must be held for a period of 2 years prior and be valid for the entire length of the rental. The original licence must be shown at the time of pick –up with the driver present. The minimum age is 21 years.
2WD vehicles may only be driven on sealed bitumen roads or well maintained access roads less than 500m long to recognised camping grounds. 4WD are restricted to major recognised 4wd unsealed roads, if unsure ask. Any vehicles bogged down in areas not covered by HEMA maps are at the cost of recovery and liability to the client.
vehicles are NOT permitted to travel on the Canning Stock Route, The Lost City in Litchfield Park, Gunbarrel Highway, the Old Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York, Boggy Hole (Finke Gorge National Park), the Old South Road from Maryvale to Finkea and the last 2 kilometres of the Lennard River Gorge Road, at any time.
If the customer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire they must first obtain permission from Campabout WA reservations who will advise the additional costs. Rental extension is subject to fleet availability. The extra cost must be paid by credit card on the day the extension confirmed either at our office or over the phone- failure to do so will result in renter being charged double the gross daily rate.
We reserve the right to charge the renter for any traffic violations, parking fines, speeding tickets or road toll fines, an additional $60 per fine will be incurred to cover the processing fee. If one of our vehicles is confiscated under the Anti-Hoon laws in WA then the renter is responsible for the costs i.e. off road 28 days, next rental lost, compensation, etc.
CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute to an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to a refund.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
In the event of no alternative vehicle being available to the renter our liability is limited to a refund of their deposit or the unused portion of the hire charge. In the case of mechanical failure or accident damage (unless the fault or caused by renter) the remainder of the hire period.
LICENCE MINIMUM/MAXIMUM AGE
A valid drivers licence from your country of origin or residence, or an international drivers licence is acceptable. The minimum age is 25 and the maximum age is 75 years. Arrangements can be made for drivers between 21 and 24 and over 75 under special circumstances subject to additional insurance charges,
We reserve the right to refuse rental to a renter at our discretion without details or reasons.
In the unfortunate event of a mechanical breakdown, please ring our office in the 1st instance and we will organise the RAC to assist you. Please be aware, if the problem is not our liability eg: punctures, tyre problems, flattened batteries etc, you will be responsible for all costs.
Deposit is non-refundable.
If cancelled 25 days or more prior to pick up - Additional $250 charge.
If cancelled 7-21 days prior to pick up- Additional 20% of net rental (minimum $250)
If cancelled less than 7 days prior to pick up- Deposit + 50% of net rental.
If cancelled on the day of pick up or NO show- 100% of rental
No refund for latepick up or early return.
We highly advise renters take out the highest level of travel insurance available.
Personal injury- This vehicle has 3rd party insurance cover, it is likely that any other vehicle involved in an accident also has this same cover (3rd party). In the outcome of an accident, circumstances depending the renter may be entitled to claim for personal injury against the 3rd party insurance of the person responsible for the accident. The extent of the insurance differs from State to State and Campabout WA strongly recommends that all passengers take out their own personal travel insurance.
The vehicle is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of the 3rd party. However, if the renter is responsible: Up to the amount of the applicable liability for the cost of such damage to 3rd party property, or to the rented vehicle. The renters also responsible for the cost of demurrage for the period the vehicle is unavailable due to repairs. The liability applies in respect of each claim, not per rental. In addition to the liability: An administration fee of $75 will be charged per claim. The liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported to Campabout WA, not at the completion of the rental period. If a vehicle is damaged and undrivable, Campabout WA are under no obligation to supply a replacement vehicle or refund any unused rental days.
The rental charge includes a standard liability of up to $3,500 (per claim). A credit card imprint will be taken for the bond in the amount of $3,500 at the time of entering into the rental contract.
The Standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one the following Insurance options:
4WD (Landcruiser & Bushcamper)
Reduced excess: $1,500
$25 per day
2WD (Caravan, VW Crafter, Family Hitop , Hitop)
Reduced excess: $1,200
$20 per day
Bookings over 21 days with the reduced excess insurance option include one replacement windscreen free of charge.
For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a bond. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the Bond upon vehicle collection. The credit card holders or drivers are jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle.
The bond is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned to the original location – or location as contractually states, full of fuel and all other terms of the Terms and Conditions been complied with. Should damage be present to the vehicle on its return, the bond will be used to cover the costs of repairs up to the amount of the liability. However, when the terms of the rental contract are breached and the bond insufficient to cover damage than any other costs will apply.
I hereby unconditionally and irrevocably authorise Campabout WA to charge to the credit card (cards) for the bond or for damage or infringements that is fair and reasonable or that properly need to be incurred as a result of any breach or non’ performance by me of the terms of this contract.
Please also note, in the event of a key drop (ie. office closed) Campabout WA will also charge for any damage or non-performance of the terms of this contract ie damage, re-cleans, lost equiment, etc
The renter is responsible for the cost at all times for:
- Damage caused where terms of the Rental contract have been breached
- Any vehicles in unauthorised area
- Damage to the roof, Awning, or under body of the vehicle
- Damage caused from the use of incorrect fuel or contaminated fuel
- Damage or loss to any personal possessions
- Damage caused to the vehicle when using the vehicle in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic
- Damage caused to the vehicle by the renter's willful conduct
- Damage caused to the vehicle in any way by part or total water submersion or salt water
- Damage caused by negligence i.e. ignoring mechanical faults causing more severe damage
- Single vehicle accidents and accidents involving animals, minimum,$1500 excess payable.
- Tyres and Glass
- (Driving in darkness is incredibly dangerous in the Australian Outback)
- Please Note; All accidents will be classed as single vehicle accidents unless all the verifiable documentation of the other party and their vehicle is supplied i.e. Rego, Drivers License and possible witness statements.
When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick up time. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental. When a rental moves from one rate season to the next, the calculation is based on both rates.
Any payments done by credit card are subject to a 2% fee in addition to the payment.
